Message from our Pastor – July 12, 2020

Fr. Robert Butz
Hi. My name is Fr. Robert Butz, and I am now officially the new pastor of St. Christopher Parish. Originally, I am from Iowa. But my family moved frequently because of my father’s job. I graduated from St. Norbert College in De Pere, and felt called to serve God as a priest for the Diocese of Madison. I attended Mundelein Seminary and was ordained at St. Raphael Cathedral in 2000. For my first three years, I was a parochial vicar at the cathedral and St. Thomas Aquinas in Madison. Since 2003, I have served as a pastor for Corpus Christi in Boscobel, St. Olaf and St. Joseph in De Forest and East Bristol, and most recently Nativity of Mary in Janesville. I have been fortunate to serve the Lord for 20 years as a priest and hopefully for many more!

In our time together, I hope to get to meet and come to know all of you. Up front, I will say that one gift that I do not have is the ability to remember names. So, please be patient with me as I try to remember everyone. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know the family of St. Christopher.

Let me close with a quote from one of my favorite saints – St. Augustine. In his masterpiece, The Confessions, Augustine wrote, “Lord, you know me. Let me know you.” I hope we can all grow to know the Lord more deeply together, and that we can also know how much the Lord loves us more than we can comprehend.

Have a blessed week
