Knights of Columbus May 2018 Newsletter

Greetings Brother Knights,

Grand Knight’s Report

Looks like Winter had finally loosened its grip and Spring has arrived, with flowers blooming and lawn mowers are humming! Mother’s Day is approaching, so take time to give thanks for all the Mothers in your lives and all that they do.

The state convention was a great success. The 50/50 Raffle sales totaled $3,082.00. 50% of the total sales was awarded to 4 winners. The other 50% of that amount, $1,541.00 went to three charities, Women’s Care Center, Special Olympics and an Ultrasound Machine. The Basket Raffle total ticket sales were $2,458.00. There was additional income from the Ladies Luncheon and Packer tickets of $850.00 for a total of $3,308.00. After expenses the Net Income was 3138.00! This was divided between the 9 councils that participated to provide a return of $348.00 to each Council for the charity of their choice.

Discussion have begun to get ideas for our Council’s approaching 25th Anniversary Celebration. Please mark your calendar for June 24, 2018 for this celebration. Currently we have one potential new candidate, Patrick Ohm to have a 1st degree at our May meeting. If you know of any others interested, contact Mark Heyde.

Food for Thought: Insurance by Brother Knights for Brother Knights –
May is Disability Income month!
What if your last paycheck was your last paycheck?

What would you do? How would you continue to provide for your family?

Disability income insurance from the Knights of Columbus can help protect your most important financial asset – your ability to make a living – so it should be an important part of every family’s planning.

Long-term disability is much more common than things we all regularly insure against. You and I face a 1 in 100 risk of losing our home to a fire, but a 1 in 5 risk of suffering a long-term disability.*

Perhaps now is the time to consider the value of privately-owned disability income insurance.

The Knights of Columbus has a great product with many great options.
As your professional Knights of Columbus insurance agent, I look forward to helping you and your family.
