Greetings Brother Knights,
Grand Knight’s Report
As I begin my second year as Grand Knight I would like to thank all past and present Officers that have helped this past year. What makes the Grand Knight position easier and our Council strong is the willingness of our Knights to step forward and help out with our many activities. Without all of you we would not be the successful Council that we are.
As most you already know Fr. Vernon has received a new assignment from the Bishop and will be moving to St. Clement Parish, Lancaster, WI. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank Father for all his help, knowledge and guidance as our Chaplain for the past eight years. I am sure that we all wish him well in this new parish. Let us all keep him and his family in our prayers.
Just a reminder of the July Council meeting at Tom Kretchman’s airfield on July 20th. ALL FAMILY MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND so I hope to see many of you there to enjoy good food and friendship. All food and beverages will be provided so please RSVP to me by phone or by email if you are able to attend by July 15th. If there is anyone that you know that may be interesting in becoming a Knight, please feel free to bring them along to this event.
I am happy to share that Ron & Ann Lease have been chosen “Family of the Month” for May by the Supreme Council office. They will be awarded a Holy Family gift in recognition of this honor.
I want to thank all the Knights that volunteered to help at Bratfest 2017. Our council received $368.00 for the “smokey” hours working at the grills. Thank you again for your time and hope that we can again do this next year for a fundraiser for our council.
August 12th is our founder Fr. McGivney’s birthday. In honor of his birthday the 5:00 p.m. mass will be said in his remembrance.

Fellow Knights,
I hope everyone enjoyed the 4th of July Holiday with the great weather!
The Birthday, Anniversary and Farewell Party for Father Vernon were a solemn but great time for all parishioners who attended!! The Knights also will help Father pack his books this Monday the 10th of July at 9:00 a.m. Please take part and lend a hand if you are able.
The July meeting at Kretschman’s air field will be on July 20th. We will have a short meeting, followed by good food, games, conversation, and maybe airplane rides for those interested. Tom also gives the kids a tour of his historic fire truck, popcorn cart, and antique station wagon. Special thanks to Tom Kretschman for hosting. Also thanks to Knight Mickey Johnson and GK Clyde Hellenbrand for organizing the event!
Corporate communion on Father’s Day weekend was well attended. It was good to see so many knights and their families’ together and married couples renewing their wedding vows.
On July 4th the Knights took part in BPNNs Flags For Food! Thanks to all who took part! This year 225 flags were distributed throughout Verona!
On July 23rd the Knights will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast at the parish center. Please lend a hand and have a great breakfast. The volunteers should show up around 6:30 AM. Knight Bill Cassel will be organizing this event. Please bring some something to add to the sweets table.
The Mallards game is scheduled on August 12th with a tailgate starting at 2:30 followed by the game at 6:35 p.m. They will play the Battle Creek Bombers. It will be a great time at the ballpark!
Again the Badger Prairie Needs Network has their Community Meal on the first Saturday of each month and the Knights are needed to sign up for a few hours to help prepare and serve the meal and clean up.
Please volunteer and take part in this worthy cause! Click here to sign up.
Lastly, please don’t forget to send in your volunteer hours at the end of each month. Click here to enter your hours.
Respectfully Submitted,
Knight Tony Grant – Program Director
